Nolly is a Toronto-based ITIN application service operated by IRS-Certified Acceptance Agents (CAAs). We prepare and submit Form W-7 on behalf of non-US residents, including content creators, freelancers, YouTubers, influencers, and business owners, earning income from US platforms and companies.
If you live outside the United States and receive money from YouTube, a US brand deal, an affiliate program, or any US-based payer, you likely need an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to stay compliant with IRS rules and stop losing income to unnecessary tax withholding.
We serve clients in over 30 countries. This page covers the most common countries we work with and explains exactly why ITIN matters in each one.
An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is a nine-digit tax processing number issued by the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS). It is formatted as 9XX-XX-XXXX and is issued exclusively to individuals who have a US federal tax obligation but are not eligible for a Social Security Number (SSN).
For international content creators, the ITIN serves three practical functions:
Stop excess tax withholding on US platform income
Google (YouTube), TikTok, Patreon, Twitch, and other US-based platforms are required by US law to withhold taxes on royalties and earnings paid to non-US creators. Without a valid tax form on file, Google can withhold up to 24% of your total worldwide YouTube earnings — not just the portion from US viewers. Submitting Form W-8BEN with an ITIN lets you claim your country’s tax treaty rate, which may reduce withholding to 0%, 5%, 10%, or 15%, depending on where you live.
Claim a refund on over-withheld US tax
If US tax has already been withheld from your platform income or brand deal payments, an ITIN allows you to file Form 1040-NR — the US non-resident alien tax return — to claim a refund on any amount over-withheld. Without an ITIN, this refund path is closed.
Comply with W-9 and W-8BEN requirements from US payers
US brands, agencies, and companies paying international creators for sponsored content, affiliate commissions, or licensing deals are required to collect a tax form before issuing payment. An ITIN satisfies this requirement and allows payments to flow without automatic 30% backup withholding.
Nolly is a division of US Tax Recovery Inc., an IRS-Certified Acceptance Agent (CAA) authorized to verify identity documents and prepare Form W-7 on your behalf. This matters because most applicants are required to send original identity documents — typically a passport — directly to the IRS when applying by mail. Working with a Certified Acceptance Agent eliminates that requirement. We verify your documents during a short video appointment and submit the application without you mailing your passport anywhere.
The process has four steps:
The flat fee is $199 USD for Standard service or $265 USD for Priority handling (24–48 hour document review, dedicated specialist, frequent status updates). Both packages include CAA verification, Form W-7 preparation, and secure digital submission. No passport mailing. No hidden fees.
Every country has a different tax treaty relationship with the United States, which directly affects how much US tax is withheld from your creator income. Select your country below to see the treaty details, the withholding rates that apply to you, and exactly how Nolly helps creators in your market.
The United Kingdom also holds a 0% royalty withholding rate under the UK–US tax treaty. UK content creators earning from YouTube, US brand deals, or US affiliate programs can eliminate withholding on royalty income entirely — provided they have the correct ITIN on file and a valid W-8BEN submitted in AdSense. Many UK creators believe the W-8BEN alone is sufficient, but claiming treaty benefits correctly requires a US taxpayer identification number. Nolly handles the full ITIN process remotely for UK residents, with no visit to a US embassy required.

Most people who apply for an ITIN independently do so by mailing their original passport to the IRS — and waiting weeks to get it back. A Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA) is specifically authorized by the IRS to verify original identity documents on the IRS’s behalf, eliminating the requirement to mail originals. Nolly’s team holds CAA status under its parent company, US Tax Recovery Inc., which is listed on the IRS’s official Certifying Acceptance Agent directory for Canada. This authorization means:
The IRS lists over a dozen acceptable reasons to apply for an ITIN. Our agents assess which reason code applies to your situation and prepare the supporting documentation accordingly — the most common source of rejection errors for self-filed applications.
Ideal for most first-time ITIN applications and renewals
Faster review with priority handling and updates
In many cases, your country’s Foreign TIN (such as a Canadian SIN or Indian PAN) is sufficient to access treaty benefits through AdSense. However, if your US payer requires a US taxpayer identification number specifically, if you need to file Form 1040-NR to claim a refund, or if you own a US LLC, you will need a US ITIN. Our team can assess your situation and advise whether a US ITIN is required.
After the IRS receives your completed application, approval typically takes 7 weeks. During peak tax season (January 15 through April 30), processing may take 9–11 weeks. We prepare and submit your application promptly after identity verification is complete.
ITINs issued after 2012 and not used on a US tax return for three consecutive years expire automatically. ITINs with middle digits (the fourth and fifth digits) 70–88, 90–99 have also been subject to phased expiration. If your ITIN has expired, Nolly handles renewals at the same $199 flat fee.
Yes. The entire Nolly process is designed for international applicants. Identity verification is completed by video appointment, and documents are submitted digitally. You do not need to travel to a US consulate, embassy, or IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center.
An ITIN is for individuals — it is a personal tax identification number for non-US persons with a US tax obligation. An EIN (Employer Identification Number) is for business entities, including US LLCs. If you own or plan to form a US LLC as a non-resident, you may need both. Nolly provides EIN registration services separately.
All documents submitted through Nolly’s portal are fully encrypted. Personal data is stored on secure servers and is never shared with third parties. We follow strict privacy and compliance standards throughout the application process.
